We do the usual things you would expect like induction training, and personal development courses but we have also developed our own demanding qualification, the
Diploma in Chocolate.

InductionWherever you are based you will receive a fabulous induction that will help you to settle in to your team, give you a real understanding of our brand, where your role fits in, and which will leave you feeling passionate and inspired about your career with Hotel Chocolat.
Once you have had the chance to settle in your team you will attend a 3 day course where among other things you will learn about our
engaged ethics approach, you will get to meet the directors and, joy of joys, you get to visit our chocolate production site at Hadley Park.
As part of your formal induction we will develop your chocolate awareness by giving you the opportunity to taste many of our products and learning the language of the chocolatier.
DevelopmentWe know that when it comes to learning, one size doesn’t fit all and everyone is different – we all have different levels of knowledge or experience and we all learn at different speeds and in different ways. Development plans are therefore tailored to the individual.
Everyone is regularly appraised which might sound boring but it’s not. It’s the time you get to talk about yourself and your aspirations. It’s your career but we will do our best to help you develop it further because if you develop then Hotel Chocolat will develop.
Throughout the year you will have further opportunities for development chats with your manager to keep you moving in the right direction.
